Food Hacks

Put food scraps or leftovers to good use. For instance, keep the leaves in your strawberries when you’re making smoothies (they’re nutritious and you won’t taste them), freeze any leftover veggie scraps to make veggie broth when you’ve accumulated enough, or use the pineapple skins to make pineapple tea.

All you have to do is beat chickpea brine (the liquid in chickpea cans) with an electric mixer until soft peaks form and it looks just like whipped cream.

Peach Nice Cream Recipe

INGREDIENTS

2 cups frozen bananas

1 cup frozen peach slices

½ cup cashews, soaked overnight

1 tbsp coconut oil

METHOD

Blend all the ingredients in the food processor until creamy and fluffy. Stop to scrape down the sides as needed. Top with fresh peach slices and coconut shavings.

Nourish yourself!

In the mornings, I often drink green or fruity smoothies. They’re my favorite way to pack a lot of nutrition with little effort. The foods I eat the most are oats, almonds, black beans, quinoa, tomato, leafy greens, onion, garlic, chickpeas and fruits. I drink water throughout the day and have some matcha, green, black or white tea when I need a little pick-me-up.

Practicing Everyday Wellness

Everyday wellness means doing the things that make your mind and body happy. It’s easy to get lost in the daily grind and put our wellbeing on the back burner, so to me wellness is the constant practice of giving yourself the time and space necessary to unwind and get lost in the things that make you feel alive.
