What is something new that you recommend us trying in the kitchen that many of us might not think of?

I love to use hemp in lots of different ways in my kitchen. Hemp is rich and healthy and includes all eight essential amino acids. I love to enrich pancakes, smoothies or cakes with hemp protein powder. Hemp seeds are also a whole - some food to put in every baked good or smoothie! My latest recipe was soft and juicy brownies enriched with three tablespoons of hemp seeds into the dough. Perfect!

Any ingredients you love for detoxing or cleansing?

I am not a fan of detoxing, because I think if you care about your health, you don’t have to detox your body! If I should choose a food for cleansing, I would definitely select a good smoothie made from water, frozen berries, some soft dates, seeds like hemp or flax, and wheatgrass powder.

Smoothie Recipe:

INGREDIENTS (For 1 large glass)

200 ml water

50 g spinach or other greens

½ banana

2 dates

6 mint leaves

Juice of 1 lemon


Place everything in your food processor or blender and mix until creamy.

Chickpea Sunflower Seed Spread:


40 g sunflower seeds

250 g chickpeas

2 tbsp vegan mayo

2 tsp mustard

½ chopped red onion

1 tbsp agave syrup

1 tbsp hemp seeds

1 tbsp dill

Salt & pepper


Carefully roast the hemp and sunflower seeds in a pan on medium heat until they become slightly brown. Wash and drain the chickpeas with water and add them to a bowl. You can mash the chickpeas with a fork to make the spread rough, or you can place them in a food processor and mix until you reach your desired consistency. In your bowl, add the remaining ingredients and mix everything together with a wooden spoon.

Optional: add some fresh parsley. Add a few tablespoons of your spread to the bread of your choice. I prefer whole grain bread with lots of grains. Top with healthy greens like arugula, sprouts and one half sliced avocado.
